Final Word AE86 Corolla
Posted Dec 03, 07
Austin:
Overall I really liked this car. There is a lot of hype and talk about the AE86 and I definitely think it is deserved. It has spectacular balance and the handling is really outstanding. The steering felt nice and tight and the car goes wherever you want it to. I think that for technical driving this thing is a marvel, however it does lack in power which would really help improve its overall appeal. As a result, it really isn't for everybody. It is a completely different paradigm from that of the American muscle crowd. The two genres would have nothing to talk about.
Allen:
Quick and responsive handling, but not enough power to really over come the grip that the tires hold. Predictable handling and some oversteer only when pushing the car. Accelerator pedal close to the brake pedal for the heel and toe action, if you're into that sort of thing. I'm quite pleased with my purchase.

Where's the horsepower? At 7K rpm but it's not much. Handling makes up for the lack of HP. |
